Natassa Chalkia

Biography

Natassa Chalkia was born in Crete and is a permanent teacher at the 7th High School of Heraklion. She holds a degree from the Faculty of Philosophy (Department of Philology, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki), a MEd in Creative Writing from the University of Western Macedonia, and is currently pursuing a PhD in Creative Writing at the same university. She served as a presenter and member of the Organizing Committee for the 4th International Conference on Creative Writing (Florina, 2019). In 2022, she was a member of the Scientific and Organizing Committee for the 5th International Conference on Creative Writing in Palermo, Sicily, and co-edited the Proceedings of the Conference. Natassa also conducted two-day teaching workshops in Heraklion, Crete, as part of further education initiatives, under the scientific supervision of the Coordinator of the Educational Project for Philologists. Additionally, she mentored student interns from the University of Crete during their teaching practice. In 2021, Natassa became a member of the Special Scientific Group (Institutional Evaluators) of the IEP for the “Bank of Difficulty” in Modern Greek Language and Literature. She has contributed publications to edited volumes, scientific journals, conference proceedings, and newspapers in Greece.
