Biography
Dimitris Christopoulos is a philologist in secondary education, with a background in History and Archaeology from the University of Athens and Creative Writing from the University of Western Macedonia. Holding a PhD in Modern Greek Philology, he is an accomplished writer, having authored two collections of short stories and two novels.
His novel “Jindili,” published by To Rodakio in 2020, received the prestigious Special State Literature Prize in 2021. Dimitris also contributed as one of the anthologists in Sotiris Patatzis’ collection of short stories “Anestos is looking for happiness” (Estia, 2023), and his studies are featured in the tribute volume “Christoforos Milionis: New Hermeneutic Approaches to His Prose” (Aigokeros, 2023). Additionally, he edited the epigram of Christoforos Milionis’ modular novel “Akrokerania” (Kichli, 2024).
Upcoming publications include his study “The Epicurean Memory: A Contribution to the Study of the Prose of Christoforos Milionis” and his collection of short stories titled “Twelfth of February.” Dimitris shares his expertise by teaching Creative Writing in the Postgraduate Programme “Creative Writing” (MA in Creative Writing) and actively participates as a lecturer in international conferences. His research interests focus on post-war prose writing, and his reviews and articles are regularly published in print and electronic media.
